My interest in historical crime fiction began with family stories of my great-uncle, a 
gangster in 1930s Los Angeles. My novel The Glamorous Dead will be released by Kensington Books on October 31, 2017. I received my Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of California, Irvine, and I live in Southern California.
